By the numbers: Four teams battle for one Tokyo spot

KAUNAS (Lithuania) - Four teams remain in the hunt for a spot in Tokyo as the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Kaunas moves onto the knockout stages this weekend.

Lithuania and Slovenia topped their respective groups with Venezuela and Poland also advancing to keep their hopes alive of winning the tournament.

Here's a closer look at the numbers behind both Semi-Finals encounters:

Slovenia v Venezuela

+85 - The combined margins of victory for Slovenia in the Group Phase against Angola and Poland with the FIBA EuroBasket 2017 champions scoring a combined total of 230 points having soared past the century point barrier in both games in style.

64 - Slovenia are also moving the ball well and sharing the scoring load as they have registered an impressive number of assists across their two games in the Group Phase - led by Luka Doncic's 9.5 per game - with a 3.0 assist to turnover ratio.

25.5 - Doncic's average efficiency score for Slovenia - second only in the tournament to Jonas Valanciunas (29.0) - with the Dallas Mavericks star only spending a total of 39 minutes on court so far. That could prove an important factor when it comes to the knockout stages.

20 - No team has created more steals than Venezuela in this tournament with the South American side scoring 28 points off turnovers in their vital victory over Korea on Wednesday. In contrast, Lithuania only have half as many with 10 in their two games.

10.5 - Both Slovenia and Venezuela have committed the lowest number of turnovers so far with 21 each in their two contests in the Group Phase at an average of 10.5 per game. Venezuela will need to keep hold of the ball well and make their possessions count against their in-form opponents.

Lithuania v Poland

30 - Jonas Valanciunas recorded the highest efficiency score of the tournament with his performance in the win against Venezuela on the opening night - posting the first of two double-doubles with 20 points and 11 rebounds.

94 - The tournament hosts have collected more rebounds than any other team in Kaunas this week, while Poland rank joint last - with Korea - with 34 fewer rebounds. With Lithuania's size and strength inside, this could be a key battle with Poland struggling on the boards against Slovenia.

6 - Only two players have scored more than five three-pointers in the tournament so far; AJ Slaughter of Poland and Venezuela's Heissler Guillent. Both teams are also shooting above 40 percent from outside, collectively.

70+ - Both Valanciunas (82.4 percent) and Domantas Sabonis (71.4 percent) are leading the way in field goal shooting from inside the arc as the only two players with an accuracy higher than the 70-percent mark in the competition so far.

8 - Poland have more blocks than any other team so far with rising star Aleksander Balcerowski accounting for 5 of those rejections. Valanciunas has the next highest number of the blocks in the competition with 3 - and those two will meet in a front-court battle on Saturday.
