Ambitious Belgium reveal the 14 ballers in contention for Paris

BRUSSELS (Belgium) - Ambitious Belgium have named the players who are in contention for a roster spot at the Women's Olympic Basketball Tournament Paris 2024.

Led by head coach Rachid Meziane who has had an incredible year with club and country, the reigning FIBA Women's EuroBasket champions will field a familiar lineup when the action gets underway on French soil.

They will once again be able to call on their phenomenal leader Emma Meesseman, who will continue in her usual role as the centerpiece of the side at both ends of the court.

Guard duo Julie Vanloo and Julie Allemand who both made the All-Star Five alongside Meesseman on the way to that historical gold in Ljubljana last year are also likely to be hugely influential. However, the latter sustained an injury and is currently in a race against time to be fully fit.

Elsewhere on the roster, the ever impressive Antonia Delaere will patrol the wings along with the energetic Maxuella Lisowa-Mbaka and there is a big boost with the return of Kyara Linskens. Their powerful center missed the FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament 2024 in Antwerp due to an injury and her scoring, rebounding and shot-blocking skills well be welcomed.

The Cats are likely to enjoy considerable support for the Group phase in Lille and also Paris if the team makes the latter stages. But even in preparation, the supporters will enjoy watching their team against a number of other nations also heading to the Games.

They will play China on June 28 and June 30 in Kortrijk, as well as Serbia on June 30 in the same venue. Then, they will face Spain on July 12 and Canada on July 14 in Charleroi.
