Macvan replaces Dangubic on Serbia roster

BELGRADE (Rio 2016 Olympic Games) - Serbia coach Aleksandar Djordjevic has drafted Milan Macvan into the country's team for the Rio de Janeiro Games as a replacement for Nemanja Dangubic, who played sparingly at the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament (OQT) in Belgrade.

Macvan, 25, injured the small toe on his right foot in June and was unable to take part in the OQT but is now deemed fit enough to travel to Rio.

Serbia have not made any other changes to the roster that rolled to four straight victories and a berth in Rio at the OQT, which was held 4-9 July.

Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets, playing for the senior team for the first time this summer, was named the Most Valuable Player of the OQT.

Serbia will play in Group A at the Olympics with Australia, China, France, the United States and Venezuela. The top-four sides will advance to the Quarter-Finals.
