BEIRUT (Lebanon) As part of the its efforts to improve media operations during international home and away basketball games in Asia, the FIBA Regional Office - Asia hosted last week a two-day Media Officer’s workshop in Beirut.

The participants of the workshop were Media Officers who organized the previous window of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Asian Qualifiers in a home-and-away format, and who will also be involved in the upcoming window in February. Some participants attended the workshop physically while some joined it remotely due the COVID-19 travel restrictions.

The aim of the workshop was to review the work that was done by these Media Officers during the games last November, highlight the areas of improvement, and provide to them the latest updates regarding the operations required and key deadlines for window 2 in February.

The workshop also served as opportunity for the Media Officers to raise concerns and discuss issues that they faced during the games in November.

Overall, the success of the workshop added on to the continued work of the Regional Office to achieve excellence in Media Operations during national team events in Asia.
