WHO is taking the third Walk the Talk: The Health for All Challenge virtual this year. In light of COVID-19, Walk the Talk will offer an even more global platform to promote health and well-being for people all over the world.
The event will support ongoing efforts to promote ways for people to be #HealthyAtHome, encouraging all to engage in activities that promote good physical and mental health, including healthy diets, hand washing, mental health awareness, and more.
The IBF will contribute with videos of its #BasketballAtHome campaign which gives families ideas of playing fun games inspired by basketball indoors along with a statement from FIBA Secretary General Andreas Zagklis:
"At FIBA, the International Basketball Federation, we promote playing basketball and its benefits across all levels. We fully support the WHO and its mission to engage communities in a healthy lifestyle. We believe our missions go hand in hand and we hope that the Walk the Talk event will help you realize that basketball is a great activity that can help you stay active and healthy in enjoyable ways.
Our Foundation has developed Basketball At Home activities to encourage families to keep active together in these challenging times. We encourage you to try them with your children and have fun."
The IBF recommends all to take part in this virtual event that will include fun physical activities, health information sessions with health experts on topics ranging from physical and mental health to nutrition and healthy ageing, and cooking demonstrations.
Tune in on WHO's social media channels to take part in the live event: Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Tiktok, LinkedIn as of 11am CEST.
