TASHKENT (Uzbekistan) – The FIBA Regional Office Asia held a Communications and Photography workshop for Uzbekistan Basketball Federation (UBF) from October 15-17 in Tashkent.

The UBF has recently hired new communications and media staff and the purpose of this workshop was to train the new personnel and improve their communications and digital media capabilities. Promoting the local league and the national team was also part of the three-day programme agenda.

“It is with great pleasure that I welcome the Regional Office Asia team in Tashkent, said UBF Secretary General, Ravshan Ganiev.

“We at UBF greatly understand the importance of digital and media promotion in the modern game, and we wanted our staff to benefit from the experience of our friends in the Regional Office.” He added.

FIBA standard of basketball photography was also presented in the three-day programme. Developing new basketball photographers across Asia to increase the pool of photographers and improve the quality of photos in the region continues to be a commitment to the Regional Office. This workshop is a continuation of those commitments, following several on site and online workshops in the last 3 years.

“It was a good opportunity for our official photographers to learn the different techniques of basketball photography,” said UBF vice president Khurshed Giyasov.

In the afternoon of the last day, the participants went to shoot a game and implemented the information that they had received in the last two days.
