Successful FIBA Village at FSB 2017

COLOGNE - The FIBA Equipment & Venue Centre was present for the 11th consecutive time at the International Trade Fair for Amenity Areas, Sports and Pool Facilities (FSB) which took place in Cologne from November 7-10.

FSB is the largest and most prestigious sports facilities show in the world. The FIBA Equipment & Venue Centre hosted a 'FIBA Village' centered around a basketball court and the 'Time out' Lounge.

Eighteen of the FIBA Equipment & Venue Centre's Partners held stands within the 1,000-square meter 'FIBA Village' and many more had stands elsewhere in the trade fair. Within their booths, Partners showcased their approved equipment. Additionally, 42 Partners were present at the Partners' Dinner.

The 'Time out' Lounge provided a place for Partners to exchange ideas and to meet with existing and potential clients. Visitors were also able to discover the exhibition space of the House of Basketball through virtual reality. Some of the most impressive historical elements, dating back to the creation of basketball in 1891, were on display.

A DJ and moderator entertained the crowd around the basketball court while professional freestylers showed off their amazing skills and interacted with visitors. Students from the German Sport University Cologne trained on the court and the Köln 99ers, a wheelchair basketball team, demonstrated the sport and allowed the public to try their hand at the complicated task of handling the wheel and the ball simultaneously.

Animations were also provided on the 3x3 court outside the FIBA village where visitors were able to discover the new Olympic discipline.

FIBA President Horacio Muratore said: "The FIBA Equipment & Venue Centre had another great edition at the 2017 FSB. It allowed us to assist our Partners by displaying their equipment within our FIBA Village. It was also a great opportunity to exchange with our Partners."
