Participating clubs confirmed for EuroLeague Women and EuroCup Women 2019-20 season

MUNICH (Germany) - The clubs who will be participating in EuroLeague Women and EuroCup Women during the 2019-20 season, including those looking to secure a ticket through Qualifiers, have now been confirmed.

EuroLeague Women 2019-20

A total number of 19 clubs have registered for EuroLeague Women, with 13 direct places in the Regular Season and 3 further places to be determined by 3 Qualifiers pairings of 2 clubs each. 

The Qualifiers will be played over two legs, home and away.

In order to respect the Regulations for the EuroCup Women and play the EuroCup Women Regular Season in two geographical conferences, those clubs playing the Qualifiers will be split into 2 pots according to their geographical proximity to those conferences.
One pot of 2 teams will feed into the EuroCup Women Conference 1 and they are Botas SK and Arka Gdynia. Meanwhile in the other pot which will feed EuroCup Women Conference 2, the clubs with the highest number of points accumulated per club in the 3-year ranking will be seeded and drawn against the 2 unseeded teams. BLMA (seeded), Umana Reyer Venezia (seeded), Olympiacos SFP (not seeded), Aluinvent DVTK Miskolc (not seeded).

The seeded clubs will play the return leg of the ties at home. The winners of the Qualifiers will progress to the Regular Season of the EuroLeague Women. The losers will automatically be seeded for the Regular Season of the EuroCup Women in the respective Conference.

EuroCup Women 2019-2020

A total of 38 clubs have registered for EuroCup Women. Additionally, 3 clubs will join the competition from the EuroLeague Women Qualifiers, making it a total of 41 clubs in EuroCup Women.

The Regular Season will be played with 40 teams comprising of 10 groups of 4 clubs. A Qualifiers pairing, to be played over two legs - home and away, will be played to reduce the number of clubs for the Regular Season to 40.

The clubs will be divided into 2 conferences, which to the maximum extent possible, are based on geographical proximity, but also depend on the number of the clubs registered per country.

Conference 1: There will be 19 direct places in the Regular Season and 1 place will be decided by one a Qualifier pairing of two (2) clubs.
