MIES - No matter what nation you live in, be it a city or out in the countryside, there's probably someone close by celebrating Olympic Day.

MIES - No matter what country you live in, be it a city or out in the countryside, there's probably someone close by celebrating Olympic Day.

Each and every year since June 23, 1948, when it was first held before the London Games, the day has given the world a chance to celebrate the values of the Olympics, and serves to remind everyone how crucial it is to be fit. You know, "healthy body, healthy mind" - that's the best way to live.

Basketball - the players, coaches, administrators - they've certainly been excited about Olympic Day.

    ...

Olympic Day gives an opportunity for the sportsmen and sportswomen to tell everyone how grateful they are to have taken part in the Games.

People have used Olympic Day to express joy over having represented their countries and reached the pinnacle of sport.

The day is all about getting active and learning about the Olympic values of friendship, respect and excellence, and also the Paralympic values of determination, inspiration, courage and equality.

Olympic Day is about fun, too, which is evident with a lot of the messages that have been sent out in the social media.

In Paris, Olympic Day has served as another chance to build some momentum ahead of the 2024 Summer Games. It's been an opportunity for kids to get excited about sport.
