MIES - European members of the FIBA Central Board and key European National Member Federations met on Thursday at the House of Basketball under the leadership of FIBA Vice-President/FIBA Europe President Turgay Demirel and FIBA Secretary General Patrick Baumann.

The conversation centred around FIBA's ongoing work to remodel the current European club competitions structure.

All participants shared their views and agreed for the need to ensure sustainable growth at all levels of the sport in Europe.

The reform of the current club competitions is fundamental in promoting the nurturing of European talents, protecting the domestic championships and providing all clubs with a sound business model as well as participation in future decision-making processes within the FIBA structure.

FIBA has initiated an open debate among clubs, fans, sponsors and other stakeholders about the future of basketball in Europe.
