Inspiring #BasketballForGood campaign

MIES - The International Basketball Foundation's #BasketballForGood Campaign on the occasion of the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace was successful with enthusiastic participation from all over the world.

We received photos from Russia, Japan, Switzerland, Australia, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, United-States, Italy, France, Spain, Rwanda, Belarus, Lithuania, China… All visible in on our social media wall.

The concept of the campaign was to celebrate how sports, particularly basketball, could impact for good by sharing what it gives us personally:

Strength, persistence, friends, fitness, a job, a community, a passion, fair play, a goal, confidence, joy, power, emotions, friendship, new encounters, life meaning, love, motivation, unforgettable moments, energy, opportunities, constant self-improvement, exhilaration, the world, everything, a chance to meet wonderful people, inspiration, an outlet, pride, a way to channel my anger, bruises, a safe space, love, mindfulness, freedom, goals, satisfaction, health, unity, pleasure, adrenaline, sportsmanship, enjoyment.

These are only some of the many ways basketball and sports impacts our lives.

FIBA Hall of Famer Andrew Gaze even wrote that basketball gives him everything

The students of the Basketball Artists School taking part in the IBF project in Namibia also shared what basketball gives them showing the particular importance of sports in our projects: a brighter future, faith, food, energy, fun, knowledge, life, education, strength, hope...

A special thank you to Belarusbasket, Rusiabasket, Cordo Basketball Club and FIBA U16 Asian championship for their plentiful participation.
