Hosts of AfroBasket 2021 Rwanda launches Federation's new logo
RWANDA (Kigali) - Rwanda aims to become a basketball hub on the continent of Africa, and the country's Basketball Federation (FERWABA) has recently launched a new logo to reflect their ambition.

Over the past few years, Rwanda has hosted a number of continental tournaments.
From organizing the 2016 FIBA U18 African Championship in Kigali, the Final-Eight Round of the Basketball Africa League (BAL)Qualifiers to the First Round of the FIBA AfroBasket 2021 Qualifiers held last November, FERWABA has become one of the most dynamics federations in the region.

And, later this year, from August 24 to September 5, its capital Kigali will host the 2021 edition of the 16-nation AfroBasket, FIBA Africa's flagship tournament.
And the newly-built Kigali Arena has come at the right time for the Rwandan's high basketball ambitions.
According to FERWABA, The new logo evokes a felling of national patrimony through its colors which are a direct reflection of the Rwandan flag. The dynamic for signifies movement, athleticism and the basketball shape speaks directly fo FERWABA’S core mission.

"While our identity at large remains, our logo is significantly changing to better represent us and what we do. This new logo is a dynamic representation of our national identity and closely ties our brand to our mission as an organisation," FERWABA chairman Desire Mugwiza said.
