With the assistance of the Guam Department of Parks and Recreation, the GBC has renovated and restored a former Naval Air Station (NAS) gymnasium. Currently, the training centre boasts a brand new training court with a total of 6 baskets for elite skills work and shooting analysis.

The GBC plans to continually improve the centre with renovations ongoing. Once completed, the National Training Centre will include a full gym, multiple changing rooms, a National Team hub, multiple shooting analysis labs and recovery rooms.

Once all developments are complete, this will be the only basketball specific elite training centre run by a National Federation in the Oceania region.

This opening comes at an exciting time for Guam Basketball, they are a part of FIBA's New Basketball World Cup Qualification system. The Guam Men will participate the new system competing against teams from the Oceania and Asian region in the hopes of qualifying for the FIBA Asia Cup and then the FIBA Basketball World Cup.

It is a long road to both of these events but this state of the art training centre will assist in preparing not only the senior national teams but Guam's youth for this exciting challenge.
