Gendarmerie nationale BC Men and MB2ALL Analamanga Women win Madagascar President's Cup 2018

ANTANANARIVO - Gendarmerie nationale BC Men and MB2ALL Analamanga Women claimed their first trophy of the season, after beating rivals ASCUT and SBBC Boeny in Sunday's Madagascar President's Cup Final, in Mahamas.

It was not an easy win as the Policemen needed overtime to break through ASCUT’s well organized defense.

ASCUT had one hand on the trophy, having led the game till the last minute.
But Rick-Ley Louback gave his side a late and unexpected come-back, leveling the score to 77-77.

This gave way to an overtime, where Fabrice Constant Mandimbison and his teammates proved themselves worthy of the victory, by overcoming their rivals 97-94.

Mandimbison, who played a pivotal role in his team's victory, was named Most Valuable Player of the tournament.

He also made the team which will face off against Russian side CSA St. Petersburg in the All Star President Game on Friday April 20.

ASCB Boeny's Livio Ratianarivo led all the scorers as he netted 153 points in this year's event. 

 MB2ALL Analamanga (Women) Madagascar President's Cup 2018 Winners

On the women’s side, things were a bit easier for the MB2ALL Analamanga, who easily took over archrivals SBBC Boeny 69-42 in a one-sided game.

MB2ALL Analamanga's  Muriel Hajanirina was named Most Valuable Player of the tournament thanks to her high-level performance.

Fandrefiala Analamanga's Judith Fenoarisoa emerged tournament's highest scorer as she poured in 99points.
