MUNICH (Germany) - FIBA Europe conveys its deepest condolences to the families, friends and teammates of the victims of the traffic accident in Stavropol Territory involving a women's basketball team from Volgograd, who were traveling to a local interregional tournament for girls born in 2008 and younger.

At this difficult moment, FIBA Europe President Turgay Demirel and FIBA Executive Director Europe Kamil Novak extend their heartfelt sympathies on behalf of the European basketball community to the five people who lost their lives and to those injured in the tragic accident, as well as their families, friends and the Russian Basketball Federation.
