FIBA Connected Stadiums launched in the Americas

MIAMI (United States) – FIBA Regional Office Americas will launch a series of events in venues transformed with FIBA Connected Stadiums in order to enable access and the development of basketball.

FIBA Connected Stadium is a joint initiative between FIBA and Synergy Sports, formerly known as Atrium Sports, designed to support FIBA's regional offices, National Federation members, and national leagues by providing access to innovative technology to help live stream games, enhance the fan experience with graphic overlays and commentary, attract new audiences, better utilize their content and therefore maximize their value to their members.

The first competitions which will leverage FIBA Connected Stadiums are the South American Women's club league which starts on March 18 and CentroBasket Women's in El Salvador later this month.

FIBA's Executive Director in the Americas, Carlos Alves said: "We are continuing to elevate basketball in the Americas. Through this partnership and the great work of our National Federations, we will help enable the rapid development of our game across the region. Access to the game is key and fans want to consume content on their terms, when they want it, how they want it. FIBA Connected Stadiums comes hand-in-hand with our global strategies to empower our national federations, develop women in basketball and deliver innovation to our organization."

"We have decided to start the partnership with two great women's competitions. This shows how committed we are, at FIBA, in helping to enable women to lead the game and its development. The plan is to implement this automated streaming technology with the majority of our youth events as well," added Alves.

Synergy Sports' automated technology is currently present in over 130 arenas across the Americas working together with the majority of FIBA's 43 National Federation in the region.
