BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The 2023-2027 electoral assemblies of FIBA Asia’s six Sub-Zones concluded this month, with 37 National Member Federations in attendance.

West, Gulf, Central, South, South East and East Basketball Associations all successfully elected their new board members for the 2023-2027 cycle.

The assemblies were held in person for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, and took place in Beirut (WABA), Dubai (GBA), Almaty (CABA), Bengaluru (SABA), Bali (SEABA), and Hong Kong (EABA).

FIBA Executive Director Asia, Mr. Hagop Khajirian attended all six electoral assemblies. The East Asia Basketball Association electoral assembly was also attended by FIBA Secretary General, Mr. Andreas Zagklis.

“I want to congratulate all the elected Sub-Zone board members and wish them the best in achieving their goals for the upcoming 2023-2027 cycle. These assemblies presented the unmatched opportunity for our National Member Federations to exchange opinions and to discuss a number of important topics related to the development of the sport in our continent, ” said Mr. Khajirian.

“We faced a lot of challenges in the last few years, but I’m confident that together with the new Sub-Zone Coordination Council members, and our National Member Federations, we will be engaging our maximum efforts to materialize the implementation of all our programs and place them at the level that we all aim to", he added.
