FIBA announces Globo as new Brazilian Broadcast Partner
MIES - Following last month's announcement by American media conglomerate Turner Broadcasting that it is closing down its sports channels, FIBA has entered into an agreement with Globo to become FIBA's new Broadcast Partner in Brazil.
The agreement is in place for the 2018-2019 period and enables fans to catch all of the action from:
- the Second Round of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Qualifiers (windows in September and November 2018 and February 2019)
- the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 in China (August 31-September 15)
- the FIBA Women's AmeriCup 2019 (September 22-29, 2019)
All games will be broadcast on SporTV, starting with Thursday's Americas Qualifiers clash between Brazil and Canada.
TV Globo is the market leader in the Brazilian broadcasting landscape and its commitment to national team basketball is proof of the great confidence about the sport’s bright future in the country.
The agreement was brokered by FIBA Media, the strategic partnership between FIBA and Perform.
