AMMAN (Jordan) - FIBA Regional Office Asia held a photography workshop hosted by the Jordan Basketball Federation (JBF) in Amman, Jordan for two days from December 13-14.

The Regional office had previously committed to develop new basketball photographers and increase the pool of photographers in the region, which resulted in this workshop being held in Jordan. This was the first time a FIBA photography workshop was held in the country.

"It was a special experience for me," said Abdul Rahman Al Shishani, a participant of the workshop. "I personally benefited a lot from the information given by the instructors."

A previous edition of the workshop was held in Bahrain earlier this year in April.

The workshop started on the first day with a presentation to brief the attending photographers. Later in the afternoon, the participants went to shoot a game at the Prince Hamza Arena and implemented the information that they had received earlier in the morning.

The second day of the workshop was dedicated assess the photos that were taken in the previous day, in order to give the attendants an opportunity to be evaluated and improve their work in the future.

"The two-day workshop was full of information and we implemented them all during the Jordanian league game," said Shatha Barghout, another attendant of the workshop.

Over 50 photographers from all over the region attended the workshop. It was a diverse group of participants including those from Jordan, Iraq, Palestine and Indonesia along with an impressive number of female photographers.

"The workshop helped me to network with a lot people here in Jordan and it also helped me understand more about basketball photography," said Ariya Kurniwan, a photographer from Southeast Asia. "I will take these learnings with me to Indonesia."
