Discover the IBF's first art exhibition ''Basketball: Humans in Motion''

MIES - The International Basketball Foundation (IBF) is organizing its first art exhibition at the House of Basketball in Mies from January 22 to May 22, 2018.

The event enables participants to travel in the basketball world through the eyes and talent of four artists.

Entitled "BASKETBALL: Humans in Motion", the exhibition is divided into two parts.

The first part illustrates the 'technical' movements in basketball practice. The drawings of Sylvie Séchet, a self-taught artist, and the photographs of Fx Rougeot and photoreporter, remind players of some of their favorite moves.

The second part reflects the challenge of playing basketball in certain parts of Africa and how the continent's exceptional players are gracing major leagues around the world with their talents. Cote d'Ivoire artist Soul2art plunges the participants into his colorful universe of the neighborhoods of Abidjan, where basketball is played with whatever means available. Meanwhile, the 2D portraits of Togolese artist Koffi Mens are reminders of some of the players born in Africa who went on to become international idols.

Discover the first part of this exhibition from January 22. The vernissage of the complete exhibition will be held on March 9.
