Dates to mark on this year's FIBA 3x3 calendar

MIES (Switzerland) - 3x3 is back and 2023 will be its best year yet with a slew of events requiring immediate circling on the calendar.

Here are some of the biggest events.

Asia Cup in Singapore (March 29–April 2)

The 3x3 year will be launched in glitzy Singapore with the best teams from Asia fighting to be crowned continental champions.

After venturing to Singapore for the first time last year, with the event held outside the world famous Marina Bay Sands, the heat will be intense during the five-day competition.

Australia's men will be aiming for a remarkable fourth straight title, while China's women hope to defend their crown having memorably beaten Australia in the final last year.

World Tour Utsunomiya Opener (April 29-30)

After continual crazy games and increased depth of talent, last year's FIBA 3x3 World Tour was surely the best ever.

Well the World Tour 2023 promises to raise the ceiling and it all starts off at the Utsunomiya Opener, where the historical Japanese city spectacularly launched last year's tournament.

Ub Huishan NE (SRB) kick-started their dominant 2022 season with victory in Utsunomiya magnifying the significance of getting off to a hot start.

World Cup in Vienna (May 30–June 4)

The showpiece 3x3 event will be held in Austria's beautiful capital of Vienna, which is fitting because the country is a rising power in the 21-point game.

The question on everyone's lips: can five-time men's champion Serbia be beaten? We'll see but there will be a lot of challengers for the crown.

France's women are hoping for a strong title defence, but it looms as an open race and there is more on the line with the World Cup being a pathway towards qualification for next year's Paris Olympics.

Europe Cup in Israel (September 5-7)

Much like the World Cup, Serbia and France will be the hunted as their continental rivals dream of glory at this year's FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup.

The three-day event in Jerusalem will be fiercely fought in the eighth edition of the Europe Cup, where Serbia have won the last four titles while France are three-time winners.

 Nations League Final (September 13-15)

The Nations League features 3x3's most talented players from around the world and a perfect opportunity to watch the New Gen in action.

Last year's final in Constanta, Romania, was epic with ridiculously talented France winning both men's and women's events.

Women’s Series Final (September 16-17)

The women's 3x3 showpiece competition went up a level in 2022 with Canada coming out on top in the final to prevent France from winning another major title

The Women's Series has continually improved since launching in 2019, so you'll definitely want to stay tuned this season leading up to the final in September.

U23 World Cup in Lublin (September 27 – October 1)

3x3's hottest stars are ready to rock the FIBA 3x3 U23 in Lublin, Poland.

That's a fitting location because Poland men's team are the reigning champions after a thrilling victory over 3x3 powerhouse Serbia in an unforgettable final.

Underlining their deep pool of talent, France women's will launch a title defense in Poland.

World Tour Abu Dhabi Masters (October 27-28)

The 3x3 World Tour will stop once again in one of its favorite destinations. After hosting last year's epic World Tour Final, which saw Ub Huishan NE  crowned World Tour 2022 winners, Abu Dhabi will welcome the biggest 3x3 stars on the planet in October (27-28)

Expect crazy plays, an epic dunk contest, and high-class entertainment during one of 3x3's showpiece events.

Africa Cup and AmericCup (December 1-3)

Egypt's women will be looking for a three-peat as they aim to continue a stranglehold of Africa's biggest event.

The men's event has thrown up a different winner in each of the four Africa Cups with Madagascar entering as defending champs.

The big question for the biggest prize in the Americas is this: can anyone take down hoops power USA in the men's? The red, white and blue have won both editions, which were played in glamorous Miami.

But USA haven't had it their own way in the women's with Canada claiming the trophy last year.

 World Tour Final (December)

The World Tour's grand finale is annually a fitting way to end the 3x3 season and this year will be no exception.

Ub memorably won last year's Abu Dhabi Final but we'll just have to wait and see which 12 teams qualify.

Final details on the World Tour Final will be announced at a later date but we do know it will be staged in an incredible destination!
