Croatia out for revenge against Turkey

HERAKLION (2015 FIBA U19 World Championship) - Revenge will play a key factor in the all-European 2015 FIBA U19 World Championship Semi-Final showdown between Croatia and Turkey.

Croatia have not been in the Final of the U19 Worlds since taking second place in 2009 while Turkey will be making their Semi-Finals debut. The winner will play for the title against the winner of the other Semi-Final between reigning champions United States and hosts Greece.

Turkey and Croatia know each other well after having played in the Semi-Finals of the 2014 U18 European Championship in Konya, Turkey. The Turks came into that game at home having lost against Bosnia & Herzegovina and Serbia during the tournament while Croatia were cruising with seven straight victories and a winning margin of 24.5 points. Turkey ended up winning 74-67 and went on to take the title.

Many of the players in that showdown will face off again in Heraklion Arena as seven of Croatia's available players were in that game while 11 of Turkey's 12 players can look back on the positive result.

There are many important factors in the game including how will Turkey cope with the size of Ivica Zubac in the middle for Croatia while the Croats must find a way to contain Furkan Korkmaz, who was the spark that led the Turks to victory over Australia in Friday's Quarter-Finals. Croatia must also deal with Turkey's length at the playmaking spots in Okben Ulubay and Tolga Gecim
