MIES - FIBA's Foundation (IBF) has entered into an agreement with the Communications University of China (CUC), China's biggest communications university.

The overall objective of the cooperation is to establish a FIBA class and to train students completing a Master’s Degree in Sports Communication with specific skills in the areas of communications and marketing. The cooperation was created with the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 in mind, which will be hosted in China. Some of the students are already involved as interns with the FIBA China office and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of FIBA's flagship competition.

During their trip to Europe, the first class visited FIBA's headquarters in Mies and was taken through a series of lectures including FIBA's history, the New Competition System and Calendar and communications.

CUC professor Jun Qiyan was delighted about the cooperation: "The partnership provides numerous opportunities for both organisations. We understand the objectives of FIBA and its Foundation and we are confident to be able to contribute. Our students will be valuable assets in the further development of basketball in China."
