The forum organised in collaboration with the International Basketball Foundation (IBF) will be defined by innovative roundtable conferences, inventive workshops and exciting games.

The Bamako event will also climax with a mini basketball tournament for the kids.

This forum is an important part of FIBA Africa's development program, and FIBA's strategic direction for the 2019 - 2023 Term.

It follows the actions led by the IBF for the revitalization of the Mini basketball on the continent through the Mini Basketball Forums organized in Ifrane, Morocco in 2018 and Windhoek (Namibia) in 2019.

The representatives of federations, trainers and coordinators will learn about specific training methods that whips up the interest of children but also inculcates key educational values to lovers of the sport.

Coaching clinics have been lined up for the 30 coaches while Mali’s Basketball Federation will send in 20 local coordinators.

During these theoretical and practical exchanges delegates will be enlightened by experts on how to develop Mini basketball across the continent.

The Bamako event is in harmony with FIBA’s policy of guaranteeing that the discipline is implemented across the globe with countries adopting the same rules.

The 2019 FIBA Africa Mini Basketball convention is taking place in Mali where the effective organisation of grassroots projects has yielded fruits with the Under-18 boys team clinching the FIBA U18 African Championship 2018 and going on to impress at the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup 2019 where they were sensational, losing in the final to the USA.
