ULEB Cup - Red Star fall to Dynamo Moscow

BELGRADE (ULEB Cup) - Former champions Dynamo Moscow and five other clubs secured their spots in the Elimination Round off the ULEB Cup on Tuesday.

Dynamo claimed a 104-98 win at Red Star Belgrade with Henry Domercant leading the way.

Domercant made seven of 10 (70%) shots from the floor, including four of six (66.6%) from three-point range on his way to a game-high 28 points.

He was also 10 of 11 at the free throw line as Dynamo took top spot in Group F at 6-2.

Milos Vujanic, who joined Dynamo earlier this season from Panathinaikos, weighed in with 22 points and another former Pana star, Robertas Javtokas, had 17 in the win.

Turow, Akasvayu Girona, Triumph Lyubertsy and Buducnost, clubs making their first appearance in the ULEB Cup, also sealed their progression to the next stage, as did Hemofarm.

Turow were 64-61 winners at Strasbourg while Akasvayu, last year's EuroCup champions, prevailed 105-91 at Hanzevast Capitals.

Triumph claimed a 78-73 victory over visiting Swans Gmunden of Austria and Montenegrin outfit Buducnost defeated Benetton Fribourg 74-63.

Hemofarm were 83-72 winners at CSU Asesoft.

In a Group A battle between two sides that have already secured their passage to the next phase, Turk Telekom edged DKV Joventut 96-94. It was the Badalona team's first defeat this season in the competition and has left both sides with 7-1 marks.

Guildford Heat remained winless after falling at home to Alba Berlin, 80-71. KK Bosna host Siauliai on Wednesday.

In Group B, Besiktas Cola Turka remained undefeated at 8-0 after scraping a 77-76 win over FMP.

Koln 99ers won at home over Ventspils 84-76, and Elan Chalon thrashed Portuguese outfit Ovarense Aerosoles 88-68.

In Group C, Akasvayu and Hemofarm are both 6-2 after their victories, while Spirou Basket edged Galatasaray (5-3) 64-62 to improve to 3-5.

Khimki Moscow Region continue to impress in Group D. They won for the seventh time, beating winless Frankfurt in Germany 72-67.

Second-placed Pamesa Valencia (6-2) slipped to a 77-70 defeat at Anwil Wloclawek (3-5) in Poland.

Azovmash (5-3) of Ukraine claimed a 76-62 win over SLUC Nancy (3-5) in the other Group D game.

Triumph top Group E at 7-1 after their win over Swans (4-4) and Buducnost (6-2) are second. Antwerp (3-5) claimed a 78-77 win over Hapoel Galil Elyon (1-7).

In Group F, Dynamo Moscow lead after their victory while CEZ Nymburk are second at 5-3 following their 86-77 success at Panellinios (1-7).

Fortitudo Bologna (3-5) are fifth after suffering a 62-60 defeat at fourth-placed Telindus Oostende (4-4).

In Group G, Gran Canaria took another step towards qualification for the Elimination Round with an 80-75 home success against BC Kalev. The Canary Islanders top the group at 6-2.

Asvel and Panionios are both 5-3 and in second and third place, respectively, after the former lost to the latter at home, 89-87.

The night's other game in Group G saw Asco Slask fall for the fourth time in eight games, 81-70 at Ludwigsburg, who won for the first time.

In Group H, Benetton Treviso prevailed 93-90 at Lukoil Academic to move into second place and leave Lukoil third with both sides on 5-3 records.

ASK Riga (3-5) won 70-60 over Artland Dragons (4-4) and Pau-Orthez (1-7) lost at home to BC Kyiv, 73-63.

Kyiv are close to sealing their place in the Elimination Round with their 6-2 record topping the group.

Turow have advanced after their win left them at 7-1 and at the top of Group I. UNICS Kazan are second, Zadar third and Hapoel Jerusalem fourth - all with 4-4 records.

UNICS destroyed Hapoel at home, 98-45, and Zadar hammered EiffelTowers 84-65.
