SRB/JOR – Serbia dominates Jordan as Teodosic makes his comeback

KAYSERI (2010 FIBA World Championship) – Serbia dominated Jordan 112-69 as their guard and captain Milos Teodosic returned to action to open day 3 in Group A of the FIBA World Championship.

Teodosic quickly went to work as the Serbians dominated from the start and took off with a 9-0 run to be up 19-7 after a basket by Milenko Tepic with 5:40 left. The first quarter ended 33-20 as Teodosic accumulated 5 points and 4 assists.

In the second quarter the Serbians continued their dominance, this time pounding the ball inside and also taking good shots from the perimeter as the first half ended 57-37. Marko Keselj led the way with 13 points while Kosta Perovic and Nemanja Bjelica had 10 each.

The Serbian reserves kept their team with a comfortable margin as they ended the third quarter up 83-48 and never looked back.

Dusko Savanovic
along with Keselj led Serbia with 21 points each, Kosta Perovic had 20 and Teodosic finished with 7 points and 7 assists.

This is the second win for Serbia, who will be full force with Nenad Kristic as he joins the team on Wednesday when they take on Australia at 16:30 local time.

Quotes:

Milos Teodosic (Guard, Serbia): “We played a very good game. We ran 40 minutes without stopping.  This game should be a model of how we should play in next games. We should forget this game as soon as possible without relief because we lost game with Germany yesterday. We will rest tomorrow and we need to concentrate and prepare for the next game against Australia.”

Mario Palma, (Head Coach, Jordan): We made a lot of mistakes. We made 17 turnovers but this was not the reason of our loss. Playing at this level requires much effort. I am not surprised because Serbia is a high quality team with high shooting quality.
