BRASILIA (Campeonato Nacional) - Universo/BRB have levelled Telemar's 2005 record of 17 successive victories after a 115-58 win over Iguacu Basquete.

Nezinho and Arthur poured in 23 points apiece to lead Universo, who head the Campeonato Nacional with 34 points.

Paulistano remain in second spot with 20 points, although they have played six games less than the current leaders.

Universo forward Alex said: "Every record is important and it's the whole team's job - players and technical staff."

In Sunday's other game, Minas Tenis won 99-86 against Saldanha da Gama to remain seventh and eighth in the table respectively.

Thomas top-scored with 24 points, while Sandro got 19 for Saldanha.
