The 4th edition of the FIBA Open is ready to take off. Over the week-end, more than 150 teams with player from 4 to 50 years old will take part in what has become the biggest 3x3 grassroots basketball tournament in Switzerland.

8 different courts have been set up to host the teams and a canopy has been built on the main court.

This year’s event will feature a dunk contest and a skills challenge which will be animated by none other than Dahlia Miranda Monteiro, world skills challenge champion and FIBA Open ambassador.

The manifestation is organised by the International Basketball Foundation (IBF) which has launched Basketball For Good projects all around the world, using the power of basketball to initiate positive change.

All players and visitors of the FIBA Open 2018 contribute to the Basketball For Good movement, as any profit of the event will be used to replicate the Young Lions Cup Southern Africa in Western Africa, allowing thousands of youths to also play 3x3 basketball.

A surprise also awaits international basketball fans as 3 international basketball and NBA stars will be at the House of Basketball over the week-end. Indeed, Yao Ming, Andrei Kirilenko and Jorge Gabajosa who not only played for their countries China, Russia and Spain but also respectively for the Houston Rockets, Utah Jazz and Toronto Raptors are traveling  to Mies to take part in the FIBA Central Board.
