Quimsa and Bauru add wins, recipients of Semi-Final Phase tickets to be determined on last day

CALI (DIRECTV Liga Sudamericana 2018) - Quimsa (Argentina) and Baurú (Brazil) added wins on the second day of the DIRECTV Liga Sudamericana Group C, and the recipients of the Semi-Final Phase tickets will be determined on the last day of the preliminary group.

At the Coliseo Evangelista Mora in Cali, Colombia, the Argentine side defeated Fastbreak 88-85, while in a Brazilian duel, Bauru did the same against Minas 75-70.

These results left Quimsa as the leader of the group with a 2-0 mark, while the two Brazilians squad exhibit a 1-1 record, which leaves every team of the preliminary group with chances of qualifying to the Semi-Final Phase of the Liga Sudamericana.

After dominating for 37 minutes, Quimsa saw how the Colombian team reacted with four consecutive three-pointers and great additions from Stalin Ortiz.

Fastbreak decreased the difference to 86-85 with 12 seconds left, but two free-throws by Nicolás De Los Santos, with seven seconds, put the final nails on the game.

Mainoldi and Courtney Fells guided the attack of the Argentine team with 18 points each. De Los Santos added 14 with 8 assists.

Ortíz with 27 units and Kenneth Brown with 20 were the most effective for Fastbreak.In the first duel, Lucas Mariano and Larry Taylor were vital for Bauru to achieve the important conquest against Minas Tenis. The center contributed 18 points, seven rebounds and five assists, while the base added 16 points, nine assists and seven rebounds.

Those led by coach Demetrius in the fourth quarter left their opponent unmarked for five minutes, which allowed them to break parity with a 10-0 run to put the game in their favor.
