Day 4: Group B opens with celebrations from Pinheiros and Aguada
MONTEVIDEO (DIRECTV Liga Sudamericana 2017) – The first day Group B of the DIRECTV Liga Sudamericana 2017 saw Pinheiros defeat Quilmes de Mar del Plata and Aguada dominate Osorno Basquetbol.
Pinheiros debuted in the DIRECTV Liga Sudamericana with an 83-76 win over Quilmes de Mar del Plata. The Brazilian club escaped to an early lead after a 22-16 first quarter, but the argentine team fought back and took a one-point lead after winning the second quarter 22-15. The teams fought evenly during the second half, but Pinheiros dominated the battle for the rebounds 44-28, to win the second half 46-38. Led offensively by 18 points from Bennet, the team from Sao Pablo celebrated the win.

Group B host Aguada debuted in the DIRECTV Liga Sudamericana with a 112-62 dominating performance over Osorno Basquetbol. The home team dominated from the get-go after a 31-9 first quarter. High effectiveness from the field and an amazing Kyle La Monte, allowed Aguada to keep adding to the difference. Osorno couldn’t find answers to the impressive barrage from the home team, as the Aguada fan were sent home happy. La Monte added 22 points in the win.

Tomorrow on Day 2 of Group B, Osorno will face Pinheiros and Quilmes de Mar del Plata will play against the home team, Aguada.
