The revamped four-team format saw AEK Athens claim the FIBA Intercontinental Cup title last year, with the European side defeating Flamengo 86-70 in the Final to win the title. Jordan Theodore was named the tournament's MVP after leading the way in the Final, finishing with 22 points, 5 assists and 3 steals.
