  • Attended the Warrensburg State Normal School, where he participated in the college basketball, football and track and field teams: 1908-1912
  • All-Missouri Football Team: 1912
  • Attended the YMCA School of Physical Culture in Springfield, Massachusetts
  • Head coach of the University of Central Missouri’s Basketball Team: 1919-1923
  • In the 30s he became involved with the Rocky Mountain District Association of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) as a Secretary-Treasurer
  • Named member of the AAU National Board of Governors: 1932
  • Named Chair of the AAU Membership Committee: 1934
  • Elected Chair of the AAU Men’s National Basketball Committee: 1938
  • Named Fourth Vice-President of the AAU: 1942
  • Elected First Vice-President of the AAU: 1943
  • President of the AAU: 1944-1947
  • Leaded the Joint Basketball Rules Committee that adopted a unified standard set of basketball rules in the U.S.A.: 1947
  • Named Chair of the AAU Men’s National Basketball Committee: 1948
  • President of FIBA: 1948-1960
