12 teams enter FIBA Europe Cup Regular Season from Basketball Champions League Qualifiers

MUNICH (Germany) - The 2021-22 FIBA Europe Cup Regular Season lineup has edged closer to completion after 12 teams join the competition from the Basketball Champions League Qualifiers.

Having opted in to join FIBA Europe Cup, Belfius Mons-Hainaut (BEL), Hapoel Eilat (ISR), Kapfenberg Bulls (AUT), London Lions (GBR) and Sporting CP (POR) bowed out in the Quarter-Finals of the BCL Qualifiers, Bakken Bears (DEN), Mornar Bar (MNE), Opava (CZE), Peristeri (GRE) and ZZ Leiden (NED) exited in the Semi-Finals, while Parma (RUS) and Tsmoki-Minsk (BLR) fell short in their respective Finals.

The 12 teams had already been provisionally placed in August's Regular Season draw alongside the 14 confirmed participants with a total of 32 teams split into eight groups of four.

There are still four spots available for the winners of the FIBA Europe Cup Qualifiers groups, while a further two places have opened up - to be claimed by two runners-up - after U-BT Cluj Napoca and BC Prometey secured BCL qualification.

The FIBA Europe Cup Qualifiers take place on September 28 - October 1 with three rounds, culminating with the Final from each of the four groups in Groningen (NED), Sofia (BUL), Krasnoyarsk (RUS) and Parnu (EST) as the 19 participating teams battle to complete the Regular Season field.
