22 clubs register for 2019-20 FIBA Europe Cup

MUNICH (Germany) - A total of 22 clubs have registered to play in the 2019-20 edition of the FIBA Europe Cup with up to another 15 joining from the Basketball Champions League Qualifiers.

FIBA announced the clubs prior to the FIBA Europe Cup Qualification Round and Regular Season Draw, set to take place in Munich on Wednesday, June 24.

Of the 22 registered clubs, 12 will earn direct entry to the FIBA Europe Cup Regular Season, with seedings based on country and club ranking. 

Teams qualified for FIBA Europe Cup Regular Season:

- Spirou Basket (BEL)
- Brussels Basket (BEL)
- Kormend (HUN)
- PVSK-Veolia Pecs (HUN)
- Bahcesehir (TUR)
- Medi Bayreuth (GER)
- CSU Sibiu (ROU)
- Landstede Basketball Zwolle (NED)
- Ironi Ness Ziona (ISR)
- Levski - Lukoil (BUL) 
- Enisey Krasnoyarsk Territory (RUS)
- Apoel BC (CYP)

For the 10 other clubs, the journey to the Regular Season begins in the Qualification Round. These 10 clubs consist of five seeded and five non-seeded teams.

Non-seeded teams for the FIBA Europe Cup Qualification Round:

- Borisfen (BLR)
BC Rahoveci (KOS)
- Kfum Boras Basket (SWE)
- BC Beroe (BUL)
- Tartu University (EST)

Seeded teams for the FIBA Europe Cup Qualification Round:

- Dnipro (UKR)
- ZZ Leiden (NED)
- Karsiyaka SK (TUR)
- U-BT Cluj-Napoca (ROU)
- Kataja Basket (FIN)

At the Qualification Round Draw, each of the seeded teams will be drawn to play a non-seeded team. They will then compete in a home-and-away format in two games played on October 2 and October 9. The seeded team will play the return leg at home.

The five winners will join the 12 clubs already qualified directly into the Regular Season, as well as up to 15 teams from the Basketball Champions League Qualifiers.

Should the 15 spots not be completely filled by clubs from the Basketball Champions League Qualifiers, the best-ranked losing clubs from the FIBA Europe Cup Qualifiers would fill the vacancies to complete the field.

A total of 20 clubs clubs from the Basketball Champions League Qualification Rounds have opted into continuing to play in the FIBA Europe Cup Regular Season.
