Dinamo Sassari and s.Oliver Wurzburg to meet in FIBA Europe Cup Final

MUNICH (Germany) - There will be a first-time champion crowned in the FIBA Europe Cup, with Dinamo Sassari and s.Oliver Wurzburg set to contest the 2019 Final.

Dinamo Sassari completed the double over UNET Holon with a convincing 105-75 win at home to reach their first ever Final in international play. The Sardinian club had previously reached the Quarter-Finals of the Basketball Champions League during the 2016-17 season.

For s.Oliver Wurzburg it is equally the first Final appearance on the European stage in what is only their third international campaign. The German side laid the foundation for success with a 23-point victory at Pallacanestro Varese and followed it up with an 89-86 win on Wednesday.

The Final will be played in a home-and-away format, with the first leg taking place in Sassari on April 24 and the return leg to be held in Wurzburg on May 1.

The first three editions of the FIBA Europe Cup have already seen a German and an Italian club lift the trophy, with Fraport Skyliners claiming the title in the inaugural 2015-16 season and Umana Reyer Venezia triumphing last year.
