MUNICH (FIBA Europe Cup) – The FIBA Europe Cup Round of 16 field has been set, following the conclusion of the FIBA Europe Cup Second Round and the Basketball Champions League Regular Season.

The first-placed and second-placed teams from the four FIBA Europe Cup Second Round groups earned direct qualification to the Play-Offs, with the remaining spots filled by the fifth-placed and sixth-placed teams from the Basketball Champions League Regular Season groups.

With Elan Chalon and Movistar Estudiantes having signed an opt-out and thus not transferring to the FIBA Europe Cup, these two additional spots were filled by the two best-ranked third-placed teams from the FIBA Europe Cup Second Round, Kervanos and Mornar Bar.

The 10 teams qualifying to the Round of 16 from the FIBA Europe Cup, ranked according to their Second Round results, are:

2. Alba Fehervar (HUN)
3. Donar Groningen (NED)
4. Bakken Bears (DEN)
5. Tsmoki-Minsk (BLR)
6. Nizhny Novgorod (RUS)
7. U-BT Cluj-Napoca (ROU)
8. Egis Kormend (HUN)
9. Keravnos (CYP)
10. Mornar Bar (MNE)

The 6 teams joining the Round of 16 from the Basketball Champions League, ranked based on their Regular Season results, are:

1. Umana Reyer Venezia (ITA)
2. Dinamo Sassari (ITA)
3. Sidigas Avellino (ITA)
4. BK Ventspils (LAT)
5. BC Oostende (BEL)
6. Juventus Utena (LTU)

The Round of 16 will see a total number of 13 countries represented. The games will be played in a home-and-way format, with the first leg scheduled for March 7, and the return leg set to take place on March 14.

The Draw for the Round of 16 will be held in FIBA's European offices in Munich, Germany at 11:00 CET on Thursday, February 08, and can be followed live on twitter.com/FIBAEuropeCup.

The Draw will be made without any restriction, with all teams being drawn from the same pot. Should two FIBA Europe Cup teams be paired against each other, the higher-ranked team, based on the Second Round results, will have home-court advantage in the return leg.

In the case of two Basketball Champions League teams being drawn to play each other, the teams will be classified according to their results in the Regular Season, with the higher-ranked club playing the return leg at home.

Should a FIBA Europe Cup team be drawn against a Basketball Champions League team, the FIBA Europe Cup side will automatically enjoy home-court advantage in the return leg. This principle applies for all subsequent rounds of the FIBA Europe Cup.
