Career night lands Govens with Top Performer distinction

SZOMBATHELY (FIBA Europe Cup) - Falco Vulcano guard Darrin Govens had a career night against Karposh Sokoli, earning Top Performer honors by setting a new FIBA Europe Cup season-high in efficiency on Tuesday.

The 29-year-old American guard just missed out on a triple-double with a 29-point, 11-assist, 8-rebound and 3-steal game in a 108-87 win for the Hungarian side.

The all-round performance landed Govens with the new season record, his numbers adding up to an efficiency of 45, just shy of the all-time record of 46 that was set by Chase Fieler last season.

His teammate Zoltan Perl also came up big with 23 points, 10 assists and 8 rebounds to snatch up a place in the Team of the Week as well. For both Falco Vulcano players, this was their second appearance among the Top Performers.

Elsewhere, Keravnos big man Mohamed Abukar posted a massive double-double of 29 points and 13 rebounds alongside 4 assists and a pair of steals, but his efficiency of 38 could was not enough to prevent a heart-breaking 93-92 loss to Kormend.

Uros Lukovic of Mornar Bar was as dominant as ever against Kataja Basket in Finland with 21 points, 13 rebounds and 2 blocks, but the Montenegrin club also suffered a defeat, coming up short, 81-76 in Joensuu.

Meanwhile, Demir Insaat shooting guard Bracey Wright played a big role in an 86-59 demolition of Sigal Prishtina, scoring 16 points, dishing out 9 assists and grabbing 4 rebounds to round out the Team of the Week.
