Eight teams already through to the FIBA Europe Cup Second Round

MUNICH (FIBA Europe Cup) - With two weeks remaining in the Regular Season of the FIBA Europe Cup, eight teams from six groups can already rest assured of their place in the Second Round after taking care of business early.

After stellar play in the first half of the Regular Season, the list of teams that locked in qualification with wins in Week 4 includes BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque, Nanterre 92, Redwell-Gunners Oberwart, Elan Bearnais, U-BT Cluj-Napoca, Enisey Krasnoyarsk, BC Mures and Vytautas Prienai-Birstonas.

The first and second placed teams in each group will advance to the Second Round automatically and none of these teams can now drop below second place in the standings of their respective groups.

Redwell-Gunners and Elan Bearnais have taken the two automatic qualification spots in the three-team Group E, while Mures and Vytautas did so in the also three-team Group I. In all other groups, at least one automatic qualification spot is available.

Furthermore, the four best third-placed teams, two per conference, will also advance to the Second Round, meaning that all teams in the FIBA Europe Cup still have a theoretical path to qualification.

In deciding the best third-placed teams, clubs from the four-team groups will have their games against the last-placed teams of the group discarded.
