Day 6 preview: Final tickets up for grabs while relegation casts a long shadow

MATOSINHOS (FIBA U20 Women's European Championship) - The penultimate day of the FIBA U20 Women's European Championship will see two teams seal a place in the Final and two nations suffer a painful relegation to Division B for 2018.

Spain remain firm favorites to retain their title and if they want to make a sixth final in the past seven editions of the competition, they must steer past Russia. Something will have to give as the duo have a combined 10 wins and 0 losses so far.

The frontcourt duel between Spain's in-form Maria Araujo and Russia's leader Elizaveta Shabanaova is likely to be the critical match-up.

Slovenia made history as they reached the Semi-Finals for the first time and they will need Annamaria Prezelj to take care of French playmaker Lisa Berkani, if they want to reach yet another high tide mark. Both teams clashed in the first phase of the tournament, with France registering a narrow victory.

There are six Classification games being played and the main focus will be on Turkey against Netherlands and Lithuania against Bosnia and Herzegovina, since the losers of those contests will be relegated.
