HERAKLION (Greece) - There will be 16 teams battling it out to be crowned winners of the FIBA U20 European Championship in Heraklion, Greece from July 8-16.

Spain are the reigning champions after defeating Lithuania in last year's Final, as Juan Nunez picked up tournament MVP honors.

Serbia are the most successful side in the history of the competition with four titles, while Spain have accumulated 14 medals in total having also been crowned champions in 2016.

Israel were the last nation to win back-to-back titles when they defended their 2018 crown in 2019, while Greece and Slovenia are among the other teams to have won the tournament on more than one occasion.
