Day 4: Round of 16 excitingly awaits

Sopron (FIBA U18 European Championship 2017) - With the Group Phase complete, the focus turns to the Round of 16 with a number of intriguing games on offer.

Perhaps the most interesting is the matchup between Russia and defending champions France. Both highly-rated teams somewhat struggled in the Group Phase but are coming off strong wins on Day 3.

Meanwhile, in what looms as a difficult game to predict, Belgium and Lithuania clash in Round of 16 action. Both teams have been labelled as 'dark horses' but endured inconsistencies in the Group Phase.

Sweden plays Greece in a matchup featuring the two highest scorers of the tournament - Elena Tsineke and Klara Lundquist. The fortunes of the dynamic guards should have a major bearing on the outcome.

Italy and the Czech Republic have been the surprise packets of the tournament after topping their respective groups. With expectations raised, Italy faces a tricky task against Slovenia, while the Czech Republic will be favored against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Hosts Hungary will be striving to keep their fans happy when they take on Croatia. In the other matches, Latvia takes on Serbia, while tournament favorites Spain plays winless Turkey.
