Belarus rising star Malashka named MVP

OBERWART (FIBA U18 Women's European Championship 2018, Division B)  – Kseniya Malashka  claimed the Most Valuable Player award at the FIBA U18 Women's European Championship 2018, Division B after leading Belarus to a second-place finish in the tournament.

The 18-year-old small forward collected 17 points, 15 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in the Final, but the Lidziya Matsal-coached Belarusian side came up short against Lithuania in an 86-71 defeat and had to settle for silver.

Malashka had her name atop the scoring, rebound and efficiency statistical leaderboards, having averaged 20.5 points, 14.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 2.8 steals and 2.3 blocks per game in Austria.

Having put Lithuania on the highest step of the podium, shooting guard Kristina Masionyte also earned a spot in the All-Star Five after putting up averages of 13.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists in the gold-colored campaign.

The All-Star Five selection was rounded out by Lior Garzon of Israel, Turkey's power forward Zeynep Gul and Finland's center Awak Kuier, all of whom also enjoyed spectacular individual runs.
