Sweden take gold on a perfect record in Sarajevo, hosts also promoted to Division A

SARAJEVO (FIBA U18 Women's European Championship 2016 Division B) - Sweden won gold in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the hosts joined them in their celebration as they got promoted to Division A.

Sweden finished the tournament on a perfect record after beating Greece 62-47 in the Final. The game was decided just after the tip-off, as the Swedish team jumped out to a 21-4 lead in the first quarter. The lead grew up to 25 points, Greece were always behind and unable to put up a run bigger than 5-0. Sweden's 40% from long range proved too much to handle for the silver medallists.

Cajsa Uhrstrom collected a game-high 15 points, going 4-of-4 from beyond the arc. Klara Lundquist was also in double figures with 13 points for the tournament winners. For Greece, Evgenia Kollatou finished with 14 points, Elena Tsineke was held to just 3-of-13 shooting from the field and eight points.

Apart from Sweden and Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina also move to Division A. The hosts bounced back from their Semi-Final loss to hand Iceland an 82-67 defeat, powered by a big second quarter. Iceland had led 22-16 after the first 10 minutes, but Bosnia and Herzegovina overturned the game with a 32-14 second stanza.

Melisa Brcaninovic saved her best for last. Brcaninovic flirted with a triple-double, as she had 30 points, nine rebounds and eight assists, and Milina Miselic helped out with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Thelma Dis Agustsdottir had 16 points for Iceland.

Brcaninovic also secured the Most Valuable Player award, headlining the All-Star Five. Sweden had two players in the All-Star Five, as Klara Lundquist and Emilia Stocklassa were both selected, alongside Sylvia Run Halfdanardottir of Iceland and Elena Tsineke of Greece.

Belarus finished 5th after their 82-67 win over Poland. Germany took home 7th spot with a 63-61 win over Ireland. Portugal defeated Finland 88-85 to claim 9th position, and England won the low-scoring affair with Estonia 48-43 to finish 11th. Denmark lost to Ukraine 70-56 in the battle for 13th, Bulgaria finished in 15th spot with a 89-67 win over Scotland, and Romania cruised to an 89-40 win over the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia to claim 17th spot. Albania finished 19th.
