    Intriguing matchups set for Round of 16

    Reka Dombai's tournament-high 27-point display lifted Hungary past Poland to secure second place in their group on the last day of the Group Phase.

    KAUNAS (FIBA U16 Women's European Championship 2018) - Reka Dombai's tournament-high 27-point display lifted Hungary past Poland to secure second place in Group C on the last day of the Group Phase.

    Hungary will play hosts Lithuania in the Round of 16 after Dombai's heroics. She scored the last five points of the first half, following a great finish in transition with a buzzer-beating three to end the period.

     Dombai added 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals in a great performance, helping her team to withstand Polish pressure at the end with a huge offensive rebound and put-back down the stretch to seal the 65-57 victory.

    Hungary's opponents on Tuesday will be hosts Lithuania, who wilted under German pressure after a great first half, falling to a 58-51 defeat in front of the passionate home fans. 

    German captain Sarah Polleros helped to lead her team on a fourth-quarter charge to pull away for victory, notching a double-double with 11 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks.

    France held on to beat Turkey 63-53 to secure second place in Group A, while Spain and Latvia won to finalize their positions Group B.
