Day 7: Latvia out for historic medal while last #FIBAU17 ticket up for grabs

BOURGES (FIBA U16 Women's European Championship 2017) - Latvia are looking to get over their Semi-Finals disappointment with a maiden podium step at the FIBA U16 Women's European Championship.
Having been sunk 63-45 by Hungary on Friday, the Baltic side will be hoping they can leave Bourges on a high with a first-ever medal. Italy stand in their way and they will be motivated after losing the 3rd Place Game last summer on home soil.
The other two major questions outside of who will occupy the podium is who will secure the last berth for European teams at the FIBA U17 Women's Basketball World Cup 2018 and whether Netherlands will survive in Division A.
Spain and Germany were the 2016 finalists, but this time there is no silverware to fight over - although a precious ticket to the Belarusian capital Minsk for next year's World Cup will be some compensation for missing out on the podium.
Meanwhile, Netherlands know that relegation beckons if they don't beat a Lithuania side who, as hosts of next year's Division A tournament, are safe whatever happens in the Classification 15-16 game.
