Luxembourg take the title as Wales overcome British rivals for bronze

TIRANA (Albania) - Luxembourg wrapped up their first FIBA U16 European Championship Division C title for 13 years with a convincing win over Andorra, on Sunday.

Jonathan Diederich went 7-of-10 from the floor in a 17-point display to help lead his side to a 78-50 victory.

From 5-2 down early on, Luxembourg surged ahead and never looked back with their lead ballooning to as many as 30 points with Ivor Kuresevic and Max Logelin the supporting cast with 14 and 13 points, respectively.

Wales claimed bronze as they defeated Scotland 84-72 with both sides having gone through the Group Phase unbeaten before suffering Semi-Final defeats.

Solomon Walker impressed with 27 points and 15 rebounds for a stellar double-double, while Jacob Solvason added 23 points in the win for last year's silver medalists.

Hosts Albania took 5th spot after going 4-0 in the Classification Group 5-9, signing off with big wins over Malta and Gibraltar.
