Six players looking to light it up at #FIBAU16Europe Division B in Podgorica

PODGORICA (Montenegro) - The FIBA U16 Women's European Championship, Division B tournament in Podgorica will see teams fighting it out to gain promotion, with many campaigns hinging on some super talented individuals.

There will be plenty of talent to follow in Montenegro and subject to selection and availability, here are just some of the names to look out for when the action tips off on Thursday, August 18.

Denitsa Manolova - Bulgaria

It's already been a highly impressive summer for Manolova who, despite playing two years younger, was the standout star for her team at the FIBA U18 Women's European Championship on home soil in Sofia earlier this month. She finished the competition with a superb tournament double-double of 13.3 points and 10.2 rebounds per game.

Jovana Popovic - Serbia

The guard could be a driving force for her country having played in last year's FIBA U16 Women's European Challengers at just 14 years old and doing a solid job against players a couple of years older. She was handed more than 16 minutes per game which underlines how trusted she is to get the job done. She looked after the ball well and if she can improve those shooting numbers, she could be a leading performer for her country, although there is a lot of competition for places in the backcourt.

Alexandra Chovanikova - Slovakia

When it comes to putting points on the scoreboard, Slovakia will surely be turning to Chovanikova who racked up double-digits last summer in the FIBA U16 Women's European Challengers. She averaged just under 11 points per game and also did a good job defensively with plenty of steals and rebounds.

Gal Raviv - Israel

Raviv showed her passing skills and vision last year in the FIBA U16 Women's European Challengers, coming up with a productive 3.4 assists per game. What was most noticeable is that Israel always looked more confident and assured whenever the guard was on the floor and she played hard and smart throughout the competition. While she is not necessarily going to put up huge scoring numbers, she will be able to still turn up the noise from a scoring perspective this time around.

Jelena Bulajic - Montenegro

What an amazing summer it has already been for Bulajic who despite being 2007-born, played her role against ballers five years older in helping Montenegro gain promotion at the FIBA U20 Women's European Championship, Division B. Rated as one of the best talents of her generation and with so much capacity to grow, it will be fascinating to see if she can look to have a big tournament on home soil and showcase her skills again.

N'Na Dinimba Konate - Switzerland

A rebounding machine last year at the FIBA Women's U16 European Challengers, that athleticism and strength will be even more important with another year of basketball education and experience under her belt. It will be fun to see if Konate has developed her post moves, but even putbacks alone should have her threaten some double-doubles when she hits the floor in Podgorica.
