Netherlands taking control of Group A, Poland dominating Group D

ORADEA (2016 FIBA 16 Women's European Championship Division B) - Only six teams are left unbeaten at the Championship, with Netherlands grabbing control of Group A in Romania.

Estonia had entered their match-up on a 2-0 record, but the Netherlands showed them little respect with a 24-9 second quarter that helped the group leaders to an 18-point advantage at the half, and the lead ballooned to 91-42 at the end of the game.

All 12 Dutch players played 11 or more minutes, all of them also got on the scoreboard, and Evelien Lutje Schipholt was the best of them with 19 points and nine rebounds in 22 minutes of play. The Netherlands are the sole leader of Group A, but Estonia, Israel and Slovenia are all tied at 2-1 right behind the leaders.

Israel got their second win on cruise control with a 76-51 triumph against Austria. Danielle Karsh led four players in double figures with 12 points and 5 steals, in less than 19 minutes on the floor. Slovenia eased away from Cyprus, winning the game 59-33 on a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double by Ana Saric.

In Group B, Greece and Luxembourg remain at 3-0. Greece took care of Albania with a 110-43 victory, as Aspasia Gasparatou flirted with a triple-double. Gasparatou had 16 points, 9 assists and 7 steals in 20 minutes of play. Luxembourg had no trouble against Ukraine, Svenia Nurenberg collecting 14 points and 12 rebounds in a 59-28 win.

Ukraine dropped to 1-2, the same record that Denmark and Iceland have following their game on Sunday. Denmark won 66-46, Frida Formann and Matilde Madsen combining for 28 points, but both teams will need a small miracle to catch the 3-0 teams and reach the Quarter-Finals.

England and Finland still share the lead in Group C. Finland held off Bosnia and Herzegovina for a 70-56 win, as Elina Arike netted 16 points and grabbed 8 rebounds to take Finland to a 3-0 record. England showed no compassion for their neighbours, beating Scotland 75-46 with Holly Winterburn's 20 points and 9 boards. Ireland are not far behind, a 70-41 win over Bulgaria taking them to 2-1.

Poland are still the only unbeaten team in Group D. The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia had no chance against the red-and-whites, who ran away for a 90-31 success. Martyna Leszczynska needed 18 minutes to score as many points. Romania defeated Norway 73-23 to stay in contention for a place in the Quarter-Finals.
