Usman Garuba claims MVP award to lead All-Star Five

RADOM (FIBA U16 European Championship 2016) - Usman Garuba was named tournament MVP after leading Spain to the U16 title.

The 14-year-old was impressive throughout and finished with a flourish after producing a triple-double in the Final.

Garuba averaged 16.3 points, 12.4 rebounds as well as a tournament-high 2.9 blocks per game.

Lithuania's Dovydas Giedraitis earned his place in the lineup having put up his tournament-best of 18 points in the Final defeat.

The runners-up had five players averaging double digits in points, but it was Giedraitis who claimed a spot alongside Garuba.

Marko Pecarski was dominant throughout for Serbia and put up spectacular averages of 26.6 points and 15.9 rebounds per game which included a 45-point game against Poland.

Ice cool Eray Akuyz also makes the lineup after leading Turkey to a place on the podium in third place.

The composed point guard was the second-leading scorer - behind Pecarski - averaging 20.3 points per outing and netted the game-winner in the Quarter-Finals.

Highly talented prospect Luka Samanic impressed for Croatia and completes the group after living up to his potential in Radom. 

The towering forward averaged 2.9 blocks and put up 17.7 points along with 10.4 rebounds per game to lead his side.
