MUNICH (Germany) - The Spanish Basketball Federation has informed FIBA Europe and the local organizers that their national team will be unable to take part in the FIBA U16 European Challenger in the Bulgarian capital Sofia.

Spain were forced to take this decision after their U16 national team's preparations were disrupted due to complications caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The change doesn't affect the order of games for the remaining five teams in Group B of the Challengers, which will still be played in a round-robin format.

The only change is that Croatia, Germany, Latvia, Poland and hosts Bulgaria will each have a rest day on the day that their game against Spain was initially scheduled.

The FIBA U16 European Challenger in Sofia tips off on August 16th.
